Aiming to deliver affordable food items for the Filipino consumers, the Department of Agriculture (DA) once again conducted its “TienDA” at the DA lobby in Quezon City which will run until September 21, 2018.
This leg of TienDA is in partnership with San Miguel Foods Corporation and offers dressed chicken for only 139 pesos. Affordable fruits and vegetables also await TienDA’s walk in buyers.
“We want to show to the public that we can sell chicken at this price” Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol said during the opening ceremony.
Also, during the event, the DA’s TienDA “Malasakit stores” were launched which will sell basic food items at farm gate prices. These stores will be open to the public every Friday and Saturday until prices of vegetables, fruits, rice, chicken, and fish in the market will be stabilized. (Photo by Alarico Nuestro, DA-AFID)
