Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol seals a partnership with the Korean government thru the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Philippine Department of Agriculture and the Korea Agency for Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The MOA calls for the institution of a Smart Greenhouse Project in the province of Benguet thru a $2.43 million grant from the South Korean government. The project is aimed at enhancing productivity and production of high quality tomato through smart greenhouses. Piñol committed to include in the 2020 DA budget an allocation for more greenhouses as soon as high value farmers confirm the effectiveness of the technology.
