Piñol (left) and Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez (middle) lead the inspection of accredited service outlets of the National Food Authority’s (NFA) ‘Tulong sa Bayan’ in Cartimar Market, Pasay City on April 18, 2018,  where regular-milled rice are being sold at Php39 per kilogram. The inspection is part of the government’s action to the clamor that ‘Tulong ng Bayan’ rice is still unavailable in markets despite the commitment of rice traders to supply until NFA rice is made available again. The Departments of Agriculture and  Trade Industry are also considering to impose a suggested retail price or SRP on rice to avoid overpricing.
