The Department of Agriculture (DA), through its National Livestock Program (NLP), manifests its support as Philippine livestock professionals, business owners, decision makers, and other stakeholders are set to convene for the promotion and advancement of the industry in the upcoming Livestock Expo Philippines 2022.
Happening from August 24 to 26, 2022 at the World Trade Center Manila in Pasay City, Philippines, the event shall be a melting pot of globally available cutting-edge technologies and solutions, conferences and technical seminars, and networking with fellow players in the country’s livestock industry.
The DA Livestock Group is among the roster of more than 200 exhibitors who will feature their services, technologies, and other innovations to around 10,000 participants from all walks of the livestock industry.
Its corporate booth highlights the mandate of the DA’s livestock offices—namely, the NLP, the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), the National Dairy Authority (NDA), the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), and the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC)—to provide quality service to and increase opportunities for livestock farmers, organizations, and businesses in the country.
Also joining the DA corporate booth are the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) as its capacity-building agency; the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry, the only specialized training center on pigs in Asia and the Pacific Region under the DA-ATI; the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF) as the DA’s participatory hub, and the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC), the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), and the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) as government financial institutions providing credit support to livestock farmers and farmer-organizations.
Meanwhile, a separate area is also dedicated to the DA offices’ product displays to showcase the Philippines’ vibrant and bounteous opportunities in both local and global livestock markets. The PCC shall also participate in the cooking demonstrations with Filipino Executive Chef Francis Sibal.
Professionals from the Department will also share their expertise and technical know-hows on livestock production, threats and challenges to the industry, biosecurity, and more during the three-day expo.
The Livestock Expo Philippines is organized by Informa Markets, the trading division of Informa Group that specializes in organizing exhibitions and creating platforms for industries and specialist markets. ### (Krystelle Ymari Vergara, DA-AFID)
