The three-day KADIWA ng Pangulo Expo 2024 will open its doors Tuesday at the Philippine International Convention Center, highlighting the gains of the flagship initiative of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in boosting the income of farmers and fishermen and providing consumers with good quality but affordably-priced food.
The KNP Expo will showcase over 100 farmer exhibitors, and will unveil “Bigger, Better, More” KADIWA models, including KADIWA food hubs, centers, stores, model trucks, carts, and the KADIWA App—each designed to streamline the delivery of fresh produce from farm to market. The event will also feature live cooking demos through KUSINA ng KADIWA, and direct market linkages with institutional buyers, and agribusiness investment forums.
“KNP is part of President Marcos’ vision of a food-secure Philippines under the Masaganang Bagong Pilipinas–where ideally every Filipino family has a food on their table and farmers and fishermen earn decent returns for their labor,” said Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr.
Agriculture Assistant Secretary Genevieve Guevara, head of the KNP program, said the expo is open to the public from November 26-28.
“We want our kababayans to see what the KADIWA ng Pangulo Program has achieved especially the results of the collaboration between the government, farmers and fisherfolk, and our private stakeholders to achieve PBBM’s promise of a food-secure Philippines, and that we are continuously working together to come up with innovative ways to fulfill that promise,” said Asec. Guevarra.
The DA is undertaking KNP in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Presidential Communications Office, and Presidential Management Staff. ###
