Twelve outstanding agribusiness models were recognized by the Department of Agriculture (DA) for its innovativeness inherent to add value to agri-fishery produce, generate income, and contribute positively to social and economic advancement of rural communities.
The DA, through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS), bestowed the recognition and P300,000 cash grant to the brains behind the proposals during the 2022 National Young Farmers Challenge (YFC), on December 15, 2022, in Ilocos Norte.
The event, themed “Mag-Agri Tayo! Ang makabagong ideya at pamamaraan ng Kabataang Magsasaka ang susi tungo sa pagpapaunlad ng pambansang agrikultura,” is part of the national’ government’s initiative to encourage young Filipinos to go into the business of agriculture and food production. ### (photos by Joseph Henry Elamparo, DA-AFID)
