Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban received World Bank (WB) country representative Dr. Ndiame Diop during a courtesy meeting on October 7, 2022.
The meeting seeks to highlight the progress and outcomes of the World Bank’s on-going assistance in the country’s agricultural development as well as to discuss potential future areas of collaboration.
This includes discussion on the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), the Agriculture Public Expenditure Report, and the Philippine Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency Project (FishCore).
During the meeting, Agriculture and Food Practice Manager for East Asia and the Pacific, Ms. Dina Umali Deininger, discoursed on the Bank’s agricultural operational and advisory programs with the Department of Agriculture (DA).
The World Bank team also presented their findings during the one-month long Pre-Appraisal Mission for the Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP). The mission was conducted from September 7 to September 30, 2022.
The MIADP is a six-year project of the DA that intends to sustainably boost agricultural productivity, resiliency and access to markets and services of organized farmer and fisherfolk groups in selected ancestral domains and for selected value chains in Mindanao.
