DIFFUN–The Department of Agriculture and Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization on Thursday, Sept. 12, inaugurated a rice processing facility and turned over several machineries worth a total P96 million that is expected to boost productivity and income of farmers in Quirino province.
The rice processing facility, which includes a rice mill and dryers, were awarded to Diffun Saranay and Development Cooperative, which counts as members a total 2,320 farmers who manage a total 3,502 hectares of rice fields.
The new equipment will help farmers in Quirino produce high-quality rice at affordable prices and boost recovery and farmers’ income. ### (Photos by Jay Morales, DA-OSEC)
