Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr. directs Acting Administrator Eddie Guillen of the National Irrigation Administration to fast track the implementation of irrigation projects all over the country to enable farmers to improve productivity.
Sec. Kiko personally gave his instructions to Admin. Guillen on Friday, November 24, in Koronadal City where he met with different groups operating national and communal irrigation systems in South-Central Mindanao during the Regional Irrigators’ Association Congress.
The event aims to drum up support for the national drive to increase agricultural production for food security, in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to increase production of all agricultural crops.
Also present during the meeting was Apayao Province Vice Governor Remy N. Albano, who serves as President of the National Confederation of Irrigators Association. ### (photos by RAFIS-12
