Key officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA) led by Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban joined the opening of the Philippine Coffee Expo 2023 at the World Trade Center Manila on June 2, 2023.
With the theme, “Celebrating Philippine Coffee: Brewing the Future,” the three-day event serves as a special venue for the local coffee industry to come together and tackle key challenges and opportunities in the sector. It will also feature plenary and breakout sessions, coffee cupping sessions, business matching activities, product demos, and barista competitions.
Undersecretary Panganiban said that the Philippine coffee industry is thriving and he is proud of the number of coffee enterprises participating in this year’s expo. The participants include the Luzon and Mindanao coffee enterprises that were assisted by the DA-Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).
DA Assistant Secretary for Operations Arnel De Mesa, Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs Kristine Evangelista, Bureau of Plant Industry and High Value Crops Development Program Director Gerald Glenn Panganiban, and PRDP National Deputy Project Director Shandy Hubilla also attended the opening ceremony. ### (photos by Adonis Buhayan, DA-AFID)
