The Department of Agriculture-National Dairy Authority celebrated its 29th anniversary on March 12, 2024, marking nearly three decades of advancing and enhancing the dairy industry in the Philippines.
Under the theme “#NDAat29: Tuloy-tuloy ang agos ng gatas sa masaganang bukas,” the event was attended by key officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA), including DA Undersecretary for Attached Agencies and Corporations Agnes Catherine Miranda, and DA Undersecretary for Livestock Deogracias Victor Savellano.
During the event, Usec. Miranda conveyed the message of DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., which underscored the importance of investing in the dairy industry due to its potential in addressing undernourishment among children. She also happily announced that the DA chief ensured that the DA-NDA would receive necessary funding, starting with the allocated Php 3 billion for expanding its operations.
Since its establishment in 1995, the NDA has been at the forefront of driving growth and progress in the dairy sector through its relentless efforts to increase milk production, enhance herd growth, and improve the livelihoods of dairy farmers. ### (photos by Adonis Buhayan, DA-AFID)
