The Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation to the Philippines, Arseniy Astapenko, visited the Department of Agriculture (DA) on November 7, 2022 to discuss agricultural trade relations and possible technical collaborations.
He discussed with DA Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban the Russia’s market access concerns on meat, particularly poultry.
Undersecretary Panganiban, on the other hand, expressed the market access interests of the Philippines to Russia. He said the country could export okra, calamansi, and avocados, among other agri commodities.
Officials and representatives from the DA’s National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA), National Livestock Program, Bureau of Plant Industry and the International Affairs Division were also present during the meeting. ### (photos by Alan Jay Jacalan, DA-AFID)
