Department of Agriculture (DA) Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban and Director Glenn Pangniban lead the Ceremonial Coffee Planting inside the DA compound in Quezon City, as part of the annual “International Coffee Day” celebration.
The annual festivity commemorated every 1st of October celebrates coffee as the most popular beverage globally.
This year’s theme: “Sustainability in Every Cup” aims to raise awareness on the plight of coffee farmers, and emphasize the importance of sustainable coffee production and consumption. It also promotes fair trade practices among coffee stakeholders.
After the planting ceremony, the DA officials and employees were treated to overflowing coffee courtesy of private partners – Cafe Hirang, Agila Coffee and Supply Co., and Common Folk Coffee Bar. ### (photos by Joseph Henry Elamparo, DA-AFID)
