To discuss partnership plans and check the institute’s developed crop varieties and mature technologies, Department of Agriculture (DA)
Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban visited the Institute of Plant Breeding (IPB) in UP Los Baños on February 16, 2023. He also graced the opening of the IPB Junior Researchers Organization 3rd Scientific Conference together with other academic and scientific dignitaries.
IPB has been a leading institution in the field of plant breeding of major crops since 1975. It has been in collaboration with the
Department of Agriculture to modernize the agriculture sector.
In the recent collaborative project of DA Regional Offices, IPB, and local government units entitled ‘Scaling-out the Utilization of
IPB-developed Seeds for Lowland Vegetables Towards Sustainable Seed System’ and ‘Scaling-out the Utilization of Selected Registrant Fruit
Varieties and Other Native Fruit Species Toward Sustainable Seed Network,’ a total of 6,000 seed packets and over 3,000 planting
