The Department of Agriculture (DA) formally opened the Filipino Food Month (FFM) this year with a celebration launch at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management on April 3, 2023.
The event was highlighted with the parade of Filipino cuisines that have continued the tradition and heritage of the Filipino people.
In his message, Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban stressed that the FFM seeks to preserve and promote the vast culinary recipes and traditions of the country.
Guided by the theme “Pagkaing Sariling Atin, Mahalin at Pagyamanin”, the celebration aims not only to advocate appreciation for Filipino food, but all the hardworking farmers and fishers who provide the ingredients for the country’s most deletable dishes.
FFM is organized by DA, the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement, the Department of Tourism, and the National Commission on Culture and the Arts. (Adonis Buhayan, DA-AFID)
