The DA-Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2) Program, in partnership with the ATI-RTC VI, conducted its Visayas-wide Cluster Summit at the Aklan State University – Main Campus in Banga, Aklan on September 6-8 with the theme: “F2C2: A Strategy for Sustained Rural Development.”
Th Cluster Summit seeks to foster interaction among Farmer Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) and for them to be able to enter into Big Brother-Small Brother partnerships.
It was attended by DA Officials and staff, FCAs from Regions VI, VII, and VIII, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), non-government organizations (NGOs), private institutions, and local government units (LGUs).
Throughout the week, the FCAs showcased their respective commodities and products through an exhibit, while other participants visited the Provincial Agri-Aqua Demonstration Farm and Training Center and the Aklan Grains Processing Center of the LGU that serve as model farms for integrated farming and agri-fishery services. They also visited two (2) highly-performing FCAs in the province, namely, the Integrated Barangays of Numancia Multi-Purpose Cooperative (IBON MPC) in Numancia and Lezo Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Lezo.
DA-F2C2 Cluster Summits were also successfully conducted for Luzon A (CAR, and Regions I, II, and III) in Baguio City, Benguet on June 14-16 for Luzon B (Regions IV-A, IV-B, and V) in Lucena City, Quezon Province on June 21-23. Furthermore, the Mindanao-wide Cluster Summit was conducted last August 16-18 in Davao City for Regions IX, X, XI, XII, and XIII. ###
