The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office IV-A awarded a total of P466.30 million interventions to the farmers and fishers of CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) during the Bagong Pilipinas Fair held in two different venues on July 11, 2024.
Aside from the DA assistance, the Office of the President awarded P10,000 financial aid to farmers and fishers affected by the El Niño, to enable them to recover from production losses, and restart their livelihood.
The activity is part of the whole of the nation approach of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which aims to assist and empower the Filipino people through stronger collaboration of different government agencies.
Aside from DA, led by Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr., other government agencies including DSWD, DTI, DOLE, BFAR, and TESDA awarded assistance and support. ### (photos by Jay Morales, DA-OSEC)
