President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., in his keynote speech for the 125th Founding Anniversary celebration of the Department of Agriculture (DA), recognized the DA manpower who have remained committed to provide excellent services to the Flipino farmers and fishers, to ultimately achieve sustainable food supply for the nation.
“Marami talagang magaling na tao sa Department of Agriculture. At marami talaga na wala talagang ibang iniisip at ginagawa kundi makahanap ng paraan para pagandahin ang buhay ng ating mga magsasaka, para patibayin ang ating tinatawag na food supply,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said.
The President, who also serves as Secretary of the agency, graced the celebration on June 20, 2023.
“As we look back to the long and storied past of this institution, it is crucial that we remember the development of the Department over the past 125 years and we must also recognize its impact on the lives of farmers, fisherfolk, and the Filipino people,” he stressed.
Marcos, together with Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban and Senator Cynthia Villar walked-thru the photo exhibit highlighting the accomplishments in the agri-fishery sectors under his leadership and the Kadiwa ng Pangulo stalls located at the DA compound. ### (photos by Gian Carlo Luague/Adonis Buhayan, DA-AFID)
