The Department of Agriculture-National Tobacco Administration (DA-NTA) Governing Board held its 111th Special Meeting led by Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban and NTA Administrator Robert Victor Seares Jr. on October 27, 2022.
The Board discussed updates on the NTA’s coordination with the Bureau of Plant Industry, release of the quick response fund to tobacco farmers, ongoing public procurement activities, and the approval of the implementing guidelines for various NTA projects and programs, among other matters.
The NTA presented the implementing guidelines for the Tobacco Contract Growing System, Improved Tobacco Seedling Production, Farm Mechanization Project, Purchase and Delivery of “Beema Bamboo” Propagules, and the Gulayan at Manukan sa Barangay project. ### (Gumamela Celes Bejarin/Ardy Tompong, DA-AFID)
