Israel will be a reliable partner of the incoming Marcos administration when it comes to the realm of agriculture.
This can be gleaned from the statement of Ambassador Ilan Fluss of Israel following his courtesy call to President-elect Bongbong Marcos on Monday, June 13 a the BBM headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
“Israel is known as a global hub of innovation and source of technologies. We discussed how the innovation and technologies of Israel, and [how] some of the practices we developed in Israel can contribute to the development process in the Philippines,” Fluss told local reporters.
“As you know, one of the priority areas is agriculture and food security and employment so this was an important area which we discussed,” he added.
“Israel is known as one of the global leaders in modern agriculture, which is also looking for sustainable agriculture,” the envoy further said.
The Philippine is an agricultural country, with rice being the staple food of Filipinos.
“In general, we discussed about creating bridges between Israel and the Philippines to get our relations closer. I would say creating bridges of innovation between our two countries,” Fluss said of his meeting with Marcos.
“We discussed a few other areas of possible cooperation, some of the plans of the President-elect for his presidency,” he added.
