Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol leads the actual drone spraying test in a strawberry farm in La Trinidad, Benguet on April 27, 2018. The drone sprayer, owned by DMM Company Ltd. of Japan, can spray a hectare of farmland with a liter of fertilizer in 10 minutes, at a P1 500 cost. To further demonstrate the benefits of drone spraying technology in the country, DA will sponsor 5,000 hectares of vegetable farms in Benguet as pilot area.
