Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol leads the actual drone spraying test in a strawberry farm in La Trinidad, Benguet on April 27, 2018. The drone sprayer, owned by DMM Company Ltd. of Japan, can spray a hectare of farmland with a liter of fertilizer in 10 minutes, at a P1 500 cost. To further demonstrate the benefits of drone spraying technology in the country, DA will sponsor 5,000 hectares of vegetable farms in Benguet as pilot area. Officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Benguet provincial government, as well as upland vegetable farmers witnessed the activity.
