In a bid to attract more funding for the agriculture sector, Secretary William D. Dar continues his campaign for private sector involvement to help farmers and fisherfolk become prosperous.
Dar met with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in the Philippines on September 13, 2019 to promote the “New Thinking” in Philippine Agriculture.
He also discussed how the private sector can help the local farmers and fisherfolk through the “big brother-small brother” approach.
“With this new thinking for Philippine agriculture, we can do much better if we bring our resources together,” Secretary Dar said.
He requested the members AmCham to come forward recognizing that many of them have shown interest to partner with the government.
“You, the big business sector in the AmCham, this is now the opportunity to come in,” Dar said. (Gumamela Celes Bejarin, DA-AFID)
