To protect consumers and serve as a guide for market retailers, the Department of Agriculture (DA) has issued a new set of suggested retail price (SRP) for basic agriculture and fishery commodities sold in Metro Manila.
The new SRP — under DA Administrative Order No. 10, signed by Agriculture Secretary William Dar, on August 3, 2020 — covers 11 prime commodities, namely: rice, bangus, tilapia, galunggong, pork, chicken, eggs, onions, garlic, sugar and cooking oil sold in NCR public and private wet markets.
Their respective prices per kilogram are:
- Rice (local): special – P53; premium – P45; and well-milled – P40;
- Rice (imported): special – P52; premium – P43; and well-milled – P38;
- Pork (pigue/kasim) – P230;
- Pork (liempo) – P250;
- Whole chicken – P130;
- Chicken egg – P6.5/piece;
- Milkfish (bangus) – P169;
- Roundscad (galunggong) imported – P180;
- Galunggong, local – P140;
- Tilapia – P120;
- Sugar (refined) – P50;
- Sugar (brown) – P45;
- Red onions – P100;
- Garlic – P100; and
