Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol today condemned the killing of eight fishermen in Siromon Island off Zamboanga the other day and vowed all-out government efforts to find justice for them.

He said he has recommended to President Rodrigo Duterte assistance for the victims’ families and would also personally visit them this weekend.

The eight slain fishermen were found tied in their boat after several of their colleagues had reported to the local Coast Guard that five armed men boarded their boats and ordered them to the bow, and then started shooting.
