Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol assures farmers from the province of Albay that the government, thru the Department of Agriculture, has allotted funds for the rehabilitation of farms affected by the eruption of Mayon Volcano. The continuous activity of the volcano this month has affected 10 municipalities in the province stretching to a total of 8,137.36 hectares. Piñol, during his trip to the province on January 29, 2018 distributed various agri-fishery interventions worth more than ₱20.37 million (M). On top of these, the agri chief allotted P50M under the Production Loan Easy Access (PLEA) Program which allows farmers to borrow as much as P25,000, payable in three years without interest and collateral.
