In behalf of President Rodrigo Duterte, Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Pinol condoles with and visits on January 13, 2017 the families of the eight Zamboanga fishermen killed by armed men near Siromon Island off Zamboanga City on January 10. Piñol announced that the President has ordered the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to provide cash assistance to the bereaved families.
