The Department of Agriculture (DA), through the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), inaugurated an exhibit and Proponent Groups’ Bazaar on December 2, 2024, as part of the 18th World Bank Implementation Support Mission (WB-ISM) to PRDP and the 3rd WB-ISM to the PRDP Scale-Up.
Agriculture Undersecretary for Operations and Rural Credit Roger V. Navarro, Assistant Secretary and DA-PRDP National Project Director U-Nichols A. Manalo, World Bank Task Team Leader Mio Takada, and European Union representative Alix Wurdak led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, together with the officials from the DA, World Bank, and European Union.
The exhibit highlights the innovative features of the PRDP Scale-Up and celebrates the transformative stories of beneficiaries from the original project.
“This exhibit will show us how our farmers have been empowered through a multifaceted approach that includes investment in essential infrastructure, modern agricultural technologies, and comprehensive training on best practices in farming,” Usec. Navarro said.
Running from December 2 to 6, 2024, the weeklong exhibit features unique, locally-produced goods and agricultural products from 23 DA-PRDP beneficiary groups across North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. ### (photos by Alan Jay Jacalan, DA-AFID)
