Renowned Filipino singer-songwriter Noel Cabangon performed for the first time the new Department of Agriculture (DA) song titled “Ani at Kita” reflecting the department’s updated vision of a food-secure country with prosperous farmers and fisherfolk.
“Siguradong pagkain sa buong bansa. Masagang Ani, Mataas na Kita,” resonated throughout the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City, as Cabangon performed during the culminating
activity of the 2019 World Food Day celebration on October 16.
Cabangon, who also penned the DA Hymn, produced the “Ani at Kita” song inspired by the “New Thinking in Philippine Agriculture” introduced by Agriculture Secretary William Dar.
According to Secretary Dar, the new approach in the agriculture sector is a science-based and inclusive development strategy built around eight paradigms, namely: 1) modernization, 2) industrialization, 3) promotion of exports; 4) farm consolidation, 5) infrastructure development, 6) roadmap development, 7) higher budget and investments, and 8) legislative support.
