The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) gathered public market masters at the Apacible Hall, DA central office in Quezon City on March 19, 2019 to advise them on the prohibitions related to the illegal selling of protected marine products. The activity aims to familiarize the participants with the existing laws governing the selling of protected marine species and provide an overview on what these species are. In his message, Undersecretary Eduardo Gongona encouraged the market leaders to be government partners by sharing the information that they have learned and be proactive in reporting violations to be promptly addressed. Information materials were distributed to be posted in their respective public markets to warn the public from selling, and even buying, protected marine products. ### (Carlos Cezar Baldosa, DA-AFID)
