“To attain food security, we must adapt a balanced fertilization strategy.”
This was the message of Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar, who explained that organic farming is important in reviving the health of the soil but to attain the maximum potential of farmlands, a combination of organic and inorganic inputs is needed.
“I am not against organic agriculture, but if we want to increase the level of productivity and income of farmers, we need to promote balanced fertilization,” Secretary Dar said during the opening ceremony of the 4th National Organic Agriculture Scientific Conference held on August 20, 2019 in Cauayan City, Isabela.
The Secretary further emphasized that it is important to use a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizer, judiciously. ### (DA Communications Group)
