Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr. led the ceremonial distribution of 100,000 bags of rice donated by the Republic of Korea on Monday, February 3, in Laurel, Batangas, to aid families affected by Tropical Storm Kristine across Regions I-V.
The rice donation, totaling 4,000 metric tons, was provided through the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve’s (APTERR) Tier 3 program, with the National Food Authority representing the Philippines in the initiative.
The turnover ceremony was attended by Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines Hon. Lee Sang-Wa, NFA Administrator Larry R. Lacson, APTERR General Manager Hon.
