In celebration of Family Week and “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day,” the Department of Agriculture (DA) encourages Filipino families to enjoy the Davao Fruit Basket, featuring fresh, locally sourced fruits such as durian, marang, mangosteen, rambutan, and lanzones. Priced at just 100 pesos per kilo, this initiative supports local farmers through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program, in collaboration with farmers from the Davao Region and DA Regional Field Office XI.
With an abundance of fruits in Davao—where durian is sold for as low as 20–30 pesos per kilo—purchasing these fruits helps sustain local farmers’ livelihoods.
The Davao Fruit Basket is available at the DA Central Office’s lobby and Agribusiness and Development Center from September 23 to 27, 2024 (Monday to Friday), and at the Kadiwa ng Pangulo at the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) on Visayas Avenue from September 26 to 27, 2024 (Thursday to Friday).
Celebrate Family Week by spending quality time with your loved ones and supporting local farmers! ### (Photos by Ira Cruz, DA-AFID)
