Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr. led the inauguration ceremony of the country’s first Agricultural Machinery Design and Prototyping Center (AMDPC) on December 7, 2023 at the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) in Munoz, Nueva Ecija.
The AMDPC is the realization of partnership between the Department of Agriculture, through the PhilMech and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The state-of-the-art facility, spanning 2000-square meter, utilized cutting-edge prototyping equipment to showcase and disseminate innovative technologies that have achieved commercial viability and user acceptance. The AMDPC’s peration will start in 2024.
Joining the Secretary is Mr. Lee Sang-hwa, Korean Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. Lee Yun-young, KOICA vice president, Mr. Kim Eun-sub and Mr. Moon Sang-won, KOICA directors, Undersecretary Dr. Leocadio Sebastian, Undersecretary Engr.
