To further enhance partnership and cooperation between the Philippines and the Korean government, Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban met the officials of the Korean Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation (KAPE) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) of the Republic of Korea on November 7, 2022.
During the meeting, the officials discussed ongoing projects of the Department on traceability and grading systems related to the capacity building assistance offered by KAPE. This includes the Livestock Inspection and Safety Enhancement Project (LISEP) Phase 1 and the Establishment of Pork Carcass Grading Systems in the Philippines.
This year, KAPE organized the “Enhancing Capacity for Operating Livestock Products Traceability System” training in South Korea, participated by delegates from the Philippines’s Department of Agriculture.
From November 7 to November 8, KAPE officials will visit several DA livestock facilities to observe processes and operations within the Philippines livestock sector.### (Photos by Alan Jay Jacalan, DA-AFID)
