Senior Undersecretary Domingo F. Panganiban and Polish Chargé d’affaires Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz met on September 20, 2022 to further enhance agricultural trade and cooperation between the Philippines and Poland.
The meeting discussion focused on possible collaboration, including market access, in livestock, rubber, pili nuts, and fisheries products. The officials also discussed the extension of the Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus program (GSP+) status of the Philippines, which allows the country to enjoy zero duties on its exports to the European Union of products falling under more than 6,000 tariff lines.
During the meeting, the Polish diplomat reiterated the intention of their poultry exporters to be accredited by the Philippines, especially for mechanically deboned meat (MDM) of chicken.
