Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol welcomes Governor Xu Dazhe of China’s Hunan Province during a courtesy call at the DA central office in Quezon City. During the meeting, the agri chief expressed his interest on the possible areas for cooperation in agriculture between Hunan province and the Philippines thru the Department of Agriculture. Piñol will form a team of experts and farmer groups to oversee the assessment of future joint projects. Governor Dazhe expressed interest for cooperation in food processing, agri-fishery and developing new hybrid rice varieties. The governor is in the country for a five-day visit to establish communication and cooperation between the Hunan and the province of Oriental Mindoro.
